  • Hi For Now

Guys, I think I’m still on break from Xanga for awhile but I did want to let you all know what I’ve been up to during my longest Xanga break ever.

    - Working a lot, a lot, a lot. Pure exhaustion is a lot of the reason that I’ve been on a Xanga break
    - I’ve been gone a lot during the weekends doing some things, some not so fun things!
    - I’ve been doing a lot of work over at my book blog, A Bookish Affair. It’s going well and I’ve begun to get books offered to me to read. I’ve even done a few author interviews. I also set up a Facebook fan page for my blog that I’d love for you to like.

I miss a lot of you and I will be back. I got really annoyed with a lot of the drama that was going on when I left. I thought I was ready to come back until I heard through other means about something really horrible that happened to someone I really care for and respect on Xanga and decided that I wasn’t quite ready to come back yet. I do plan on coming back but I just feel like I still need to re-examine in what capacity I should be here in.

Tell me something good (or bad if you’d like). How are you? What are you doing? If it’s too long for a comment, send me a message. I’d love to hear from you!

  • HEY! Good to see you again. I need to check out your book blog. Look at you, having author interviews!

I’m a bit distressed about how different dramas seem to be driving all my stable friends away from the site. I’m starting to reconsider my own time here. Meh.

  • Megggg! I’m happy for you and your book blog. I’m seeing updates of it on goodreads but I hafta admit I’ve not checked it out.

    I missed you sooo much!

I’m alright, for the most part. Thanks for asking.

  • @GreekPhysique - Yeah, it just makes me really sad. It seems more and more of the sort of innocent people that aren’t the drama causers are the ones being targeted. That’s not what I want to see in a community that I love!

    @Rainboxx - Glad to hear you’re alright :)

  • Hmm, something good…Emily has been approached for a possible shoot for Toys R Us. We submitted her photo and application last week, we are now just waiting to hear back. Braiden (the grandbaby) is doing wonderfully. He is just over a month old now.

I tend to be out of the loop with a lot of the drama, but I find myself distancing myself from here more and more. I did go over and like your new Facebook book site, so I look forward to seeing  more.

Hope all is well with you!

  • Meg, I have to say that during your break I’ve thought about you several times and missed your writing here.  Hopefully, you’ll be back soon.

A Bookish Affair is wonderful for what it is, but I’m missing more than just the book side of Meg!  =D

  • Hello there. We have both been absent for much of the same time, I think. I have recently returned (still a little under the weather) but at least I can remain upright without the feeling of impending DOOM!

I hope, all things aside, you return refreshed. Xanga needs more friendly faces about.
    *hugs*

  • I’m finishing up grad school this coming week!  We should plan a DC meet up sometime later this summer.  It’s long overdue.

  • Ok, I will go check out your FB page. And I see you on Twitter. I have not been regular with my updates here the past couple of months. I do not want to give it up though because I have invested so many years here and I do like my Xanga friends. Hope to continue seeing you here.

  • Hi there!  I am always oblivious to Xanga drama.  I write my blog, read my subs and get nothing but joy from it all.  I got to see the Picasso exhibit at the VMFA this weekend and it was fantastic.  That’s my good news contribution. :)

  • Good to hear from you!  Sending my good thing through a message.

  • I hope you and your husband are well.  Don’t work too hard.  Sometimes projects do require that kind of commitment. –BTB

  • You’ve been missed here. I agree with what you (and some of the other commenters) are saying about the discouragement coming from an apparent shift on Xanga toward drama and away from quality writing (as more of the people I like to read drift away, more or less). I’ve been feeling it, too.

  • Meg! Your book reviews help me to pick books :) . blahh trying to find full time job atm.. keep trying.

  • I’ve had to miss lots of xanga times myself because of exhaustion… better than it used to be at work, but so many days I don’t want to be in front of a computer after using one all day.  Other than that I’ve been pretty decent…. nothing terribly exciting to report, though doing tons of movie reviews for fun these days, turning out to be a good year for films so far.

  • I hope the bookish affair works well on Facebook .

  • I noticed your absence. I was bound to happen since you were one of the rare few to regularly visit my site lol.
I’m ok. Life’s busy, since I’m a senior. Been trying to sift through the voices telling me what to do with my life, and where to go from here.
I’ll figure it out. I always do. =)
You know, a lot of the time, these “extended breaks” turn into rare “checking ins.” Jus’ sayin’…
But you gotta do what you gotta do.

  • I just “liked” your facebook book page. I’m a little late in getting to it, I suppose.
