Great Minds Think Alike!
I’ve been aching for a vacation for awhile now and with this four day weekend coming up, I’m at least getting a little taste of a vacation. We don’t have plans to go anywhere really. I’m going to visit my family tomorrow and see Eclipse with my mom and sisters (don’t make fun!).
Saturday, we are going to try to brave the touristy crowds in DC to go to one of our favorite restaurants. The place is called Matchbox and it is a lovely, lovely place located in two renovated row houses. They have awesome drinks, awesome pizza, and awesome sliders. It’s definitely one of my favorite places in the District (there’s one in the Chinatown area and one in Capitol Hill).
We’re also going to see an exhibit that we both really want to see apparently. The thing I love about this man that I’m marrying is that we both know each other very, very well. We’re both avid readers of DC-area blogs (yes, I cheat on Xanga sometimes). In the morning, I saw a post on the local blogs about a Lego exhibit going on at the National Building Museum so I “shared” it through the interwebs (bless you, Google reader) with the Architect. A few hours later, I get the same post back from the Architect. I was a little confused and sent something back to him saying that I sent that to him this morning and he needed to look at his emails. He never got my email. We figured out that my email must have gone into his work spam folder. I love that we sent each other the same link. We do things like that every once in awhile. It’s funny how in tune we are with each other. I like it; I like it a lot

Sunday, we’ll probably go to the pool and find someplace locally to watch fireworks.
I have no idea what Monday will bring.
What are you doing for this holiday weekend?

Oh, Lego exhibit! Should be fun…
This weekend I’m volunteering at the American Chamber of Commerce July 4th celebration (held Saturday, actually), meeting friends for brunch Sunday, tidying up the office, and getting ready for my trip to the US on Wednesday.
We don’t have a holiday this weekend
I’m guessing yours is something to do with your ’4th July’ celebrations ( and I did guess that before seeing Chris’s comment above lol)
Have a great weekend
That place looks delicious! I won’t be eating until after the wedding Saturday, and then I intend to eat anything that looks good and is placed in front of me. Yee-haw!
Oh sure, brag about how well someone else knows you…don’t worry about how it makes us feel.
I hope your weekend is fun, even if it is still a “stay-cation.”
Nothing fun. :-/
I am working…but you must enjoy the time.
Awesome! I’m going to be in DC myself this weekend with my family (there’s some sort of cultural festival going on that I’m dying to check out). We’re in Maryland, so it’s only a few Metro stations away…and it’s always fun to check out the tourists who come from all over to visit.
You’re gonna have a great time!
Eclipse was great — I hope you enjoy it. I saw it at midnight on Tuesday. Also, I LOVE Matchbox. It was where Steve and I went on a date when he had already moved here and I was visiting for a weekend so we could look at apartments. I need to get back there.
I don’t think there’s anyone like me who is sober. I don’t want to, but I want the baby. I know, I know… Don’t worry, I won’t have one. The world is safe.
I think I’m going to buy some bottle rockets and illegally shoot a few. Yes, I did something normal. I don’t want to, not motivate, but maybe I will go back to normal if I do normal things. My world is objective.
Your world is flavorful, accented.
Some of my family’s coming into town for the fourth. I hope you have a great one!
We don’t have a 4th of July hoilday here but my kids have a day off from school Monday to celebrate Youth Day. We have a 21st birthday party on Sunday.
Have a great weekend!
Sounds lovely! I hope you thoroughly enjoy yourself. My youngest son would really enjoy that Lego exhibit.
Relax and hang out with friends!
Meg, I pray you and the architect think alike just lik eyou do now, even after being married for being married for fifty and more years.
M’s brother is coming over to spend the week end here. The celebrations at the country club are tomorrow night, so we will go there for a late dinner, and then move to the lawns later to watch incredible fireworks. Other than that nothing in particular.
That’s neat! Sounds like you two are really in tune with each other. I suspect that will make for a great marital relationship, better than most.
Young love is nice. I am experiencing old love with my wife of 54 years. lol
My wife is off visiting our single daughter while I care for her 97 and 94 year old mom and aunt. lol I am the lucky one. How many old me like me have 97 year old women cooking breakfast for them? lol
Have fun. Enjoy him. Marry him ASAP. lol
Blessings
Frank
Have a great time and we are going to the downtown festivals and then to the fireworks display over the water sunday night.
Funny…My youngest has an ongoing Lego exhibit in my house. I typically find said exhibit wedged into the bottoms of my feet while I walk around at night! My reaction is likely somewhat different than yours and the Architects. Swimming, barbecue, fireworks, and family. Just missing the Boardwalk and french fries! Good stuff. –BTB
