Running Around
Woo, this week needs to be over soon. It’s been pretty busy. For brevity’s sake, here’s a list of the going ons for me this week.
- I already hate statistics. I understand the concepts but am totally lost when it comes to using the computer to figure out what the heck I’m doing. My awesome, awesome fiancé had to save me from crying on Tuesday because I was so frustrated and lost with homework. I hope eventually I will hit my stride or otherwise this is going to be a long semester for the Architect and I. I cry about school work. It gets ugly.
- The other two classes are going fine. One of the classes is kind of a review for me since I took a very similar class at Hood, the first grad school I attended but the new school wouldn’t take my credits. Boo. I have a lot of work in front of me but I think that I can get through it. I only have about 21 weeks of school left in total. In the scheme of things, that’s not a lot.
- I had dinner with Beef this week. She’s leaving for the Peace Corps this week. She’ll be in Ukraine for 27 months. I’m going to miss her but I really want to go over and visit, probably in Spring 2011.
- I’m making lemon chicken again tonight so the Architect can taste it. I’m excited! I love that recipe. I should share it here. Anyhow, I at least need to write it down since I modified it from the original recipe that I found.
- I tried some of my Lush lotion today. It’s called Vanilla Delite and it smells amazing. I’m going to be the creepy kid smelling my hands all day long (haha).
Wedding Stuff:
- We reserved the nursery for September 19, 2010 for our wedding. I’m getting really anxious to start planning the aesthetics of our wedding. Now that’s going to be the fun part.
- I think we have a caterer too who makes bangin’ crab dip. As a rule, I think that if you get married in Maryland, you have to serve something with crab in it otherwise the state just doesn’t allow you to get married.
- We started talking to photographers and we found a really awesome one that we’re going to meet with next week. She suggested meeting for coffee; I think I like her already
- Because we reserved the place, I was finally able to start asking my bridesmaids if they would be in my wedding. I’m still waiting to talk to two of them (my cousin and the Architect’s sister).
How is your week going?

Dear Meg,
I don’t even know if I knew you were getting married, so congratulations!
Life is a whirlwind at times, and I admit there’s lots to cry over.
But schoolwork? I’m sure everything will work out in the end. And you have a great support system.

My week is going down the toilet fast! ok, bad joke, but we’ve got a real plumber coming tomorrow… Panda has decided to move back in. She is asleep in her new favorite chair now. Guess her morning typing tired her out. I leave statistics to Companion, which is what his MS is in. Icky, I know.
One more day until Friday! You can make it! Hugs!
let’s struggle through stats together! I hate it! I think part of it is because my professor doesn’t seem like he really understand how to use the computer program and is learning as he goes. Urgh.
Stats has lots of equations to consider, but the draw is you can find correlations that you never knew existed. =) It may help if you get an additional book to assist you that has lots of examples of the methods being discuss by your prof.
It was Batshit nuts until a little while ago…
I had to prep our agency’s business center for a Briefing today. Typically I try to be in earlier, but the fates conspired against me today.
1. Our power went out last night, but I had set the alarm on my cell phone. However, I still had to scramble and wake Dad. Fortunately, we were running only a few minutes late.
2. After dropping off Dad, I ran into traffic issues. First a car had stalled out at Canal Road, letting only one lane of traffic get by. Then when I got into Rosslyn, there were Fire Engines blocking two lanes on Wilson Boulevard in front of the Boeing Building. Good Times.
3. The caterer for our event went to the wrong building!
Crying about schoolwork feels awful. I hope you can find a good book or website that can help you figure things out.
And the wedding plans are on their way!
Statistics was the single worst subject I ever took in college. But don’t worry, you will get through this hurdle too as you have all the others from Kindergarden on!!
I love to read how your wedding plans are coming through; I am sure you will have a spectacular wedding.
@baldmike2004 - I’m a little hard on myself when it comes to schoolwork, hence the crying. And thank you for your congratulations!
@travelerblue - I hope everything flushes out for you in the end. (lol, another bad joke).
@WakeUpLaughing - Friday is here!
@Roadlesstaken - That makes it even worse. The teacher should definitely know what they’re doing!
@Redshirte - Canal Road is horrible if there is anything out of the ordinary going on. We drove on it this morning and it was fine but other mornings, it’s been horrible. Also, what’s with all the fire trucks in Rosslyn. There always seems to be one building that has some sort of emergency equipment out in front of it every few days.
@ModernBunny - @ZSA_MD - I’m sure that I will be fine and eventually I’ll get through this. I’m very hard on myself when it comes to school work so I probably put a lot of unnecessary stress on myself, which leads to crying.
If you have access to Maryland blue crab meat on a regular basis….how bad can things be? –BTB
Yikes, stats! Calculus and Japanese frustrates me. Let’s struggle in math together!
