  • The Clock’s Turning Around

So tomorrow is the big day… I’m super excited but also very nervous about what’s going to happen with the elections. I think the big elections are going to be super close. I really just hope that at least some of my hard work pays off. I made it into the school paper for merely doing my civic duty, namely volunteering for a campaign… err… a few as my case would have it. I hope my candidates pull it out. You should read the article. As an aside, I really hate our school paper and every time that I’ve made it into the paper, I’ve been misconstrued somehow. I’m pretty happy with this article except for the fact that they failed to mention that I’m volunteering for both Republicans and Democrats… but I guess it’s not that bad although I probably feel most strongly about the candidate that was not mentioned. Eh… it’s not the end of the world.

Saturday meant working the concession stand at the football game with the little MSL-ers which is always fun. We weren’t that busy which is probably more of a reflection on our lackluster football team rather than ourselves.

Afterward, we went up to White Marsh to watch the Borat movie. It was offensive but hilarious. Ryan saw it too on the same day and we were discussing the racism that it brought up. I guess a lot of that is hidden away from polite American society but it exists. I think it’s really sad and I really hope that the people in the movie that made some of the offensive comments are terribly embarassed. Hopefully it’ll force other people to think about what they’re actually saying… I just find that sort of thing really disgusting this day and age.

After taking a wrong turn, we ended up in Essex. I hate Essex.

Sunday turned out a lot differently than expected. I was supposed to be all Republ-itarian and go shooting in Marriottsville but due to somebody not making reservations, the Republicans just went back to Towson.

My fam happened to be in Columbia so I drove down and met them for dinner at PF Chang’s which was good. It’s always nice to see the fam. I really have not had much of a chance to go home as I’ve been deathly busy.

I had to go to a meeting last night at Caribou. It was pretty lame as it was directed at the night people who don’t do their jobs (myself not included). I have to tell them that I’m leaving to go back to “the man” for a month over break. I’m not looking forward to it… I guess that will be on tomorrow’s agenda.

Today has been really busy too. I’m sitting in the secret lab and writing this while intermittently doing research on Bulgaria and Romania. It’s terribly fun…. just kidding.

  • It’s a marvelous night for a moon dance…

So maybe if I have time, I’ll come up with a plan for this… although I’m a pretty big fan of the old style mall. I think some nice plazas and fountains (lots and lots of fountains and water features) and maybe more plants would be nice. One thing that the park service needs to keep in mind is the fact that the mall is used for a lot of huge events. They have several festivals on the mall throughout the year and the mall is also the site of a lot of protests. When we shut down DC for the Immigration Rally (which was pure awesomeness, can I just reiterate), we ended up in the mall in a huge mass.

I’ve just been working all week and trying to keep up with the old schoolwork.

I phone banked today. The election is going to be super close this year.

Tomorrow I’m working the concession stand and probably watching Towtow lose again. A whole bunch of us are going to see the “Borat” movie tomorrow. I’m super excited. It’s going to be hilarious.

Sunday, I’m going to have fun with my second ammendment rights.

Looks like next weekend, I’ll be raising a ruckus in the big PA with Leah….. yessssss.
